I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: October is my favorite time in Dubrovnik. The crowds begin to die down, the weather is sunny with a nice breeze, and I still consider it warm enough for swimming. If that’s not enough to visit during this month, now there’s one more reason: Dubrovnik’s Good Food Festival.
For the last four years, this four-day event has been drawing in a combination of locals and hungry foodies from around the world. I’d say that this year was the best festival yet.
From food and wine tastings, to excursions and Dalmatian cooking classes, there are dozens of events to chose from. I narrowed it down to three: The Sights and Bites Tour, the Stradun Table Event, and the Humanitarian Gala. Each event was well attended, and the Table Event drew in a record number of visitors, with the line weaving through the Old Town.
If you’re an avid foodie or in the midst of planning a trip to Croatia, the Good Food Festival will give you a taste of the real Dubrovnik! Save the date for next year’s festival, which will take place October 18th-21st, 2018.
I hope you’re hungry!
Disclaimer: I was a guest on the foreign Journalist’s Sights and Bites Tour on behalf of Dubrovnik’s Tourist Board. However, I paid for my own ticket to the Humanitarian Gala and Table event. All opinions and recommendations are genuine and my own!
